Myrtle Beach Eases Beach Rules Following Labor Day |
Expanded Access for Dogs, Bicycles, and Tents as Off-Season Begins |
With the conclusion of the summer season, Myrtle Beach has relaxed several beach regulations, offering more flexibility to residents and visitors.
Effective immediately after Labor Day, dogs are permitted on the beach and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk at any time. Owners must ensure their pets are leashed and are responsible for cleaning up after them.
Bicycles are now allowed on the beach and boardwalk throughout the day, providing cyclists with unrestricted access during the off-season.
Additionally, tents and shading devices up to 12 by 12 square feet are permitted. These structures must be positioned in line with or behind the established umbrella line to maintain clear sightlines and ensure safety.
These relaxed regulations will remain in effect until May 1, when the city reinstates its peak-season rules. However, certain restrictions persist year-round, including prohibitions on alcohol consumption and fires on the beach.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these changes to fully enjoy the beach during the off-season. |
