New RV Park Developments Set to Transform Conway and Myrtle Beach Areas |
Upcoming RV resorts aim to enhance tourism and local economies in South Carolina |
The Conway and Myrtle Beach regions are poised for significant growth with the introduction of several new RV park developments. These projects are expected to bolster tourism and provide fresh recreational options for both residents and visitors.
In Conway, a proposed RV campground named Diamond Shores is in the early stages of development along S.C. Highway 905. Spearheaded by a local real estate firm, the project encompasses nearly 35 acres currently owned by Warren and Sharon Stalvey. Plans include 94 RV parking spaces, 23 cabins, and amenities such as a campground office and general store.
The site offers proximity to the Waccamaw River, providing ample outdoor recreation opportunities. The rezoning application, initially filed in August 2024, faced delays due to necessary surveying efforts but is now progressing.
Another significant development is underway on a 34.47-acre tract off Highway 905 near the intersection of Highway 22. This project has received initial approval from the Horry County Planning Commission as of September 3, 2024. The proposed RV park is expected to feature approximately 200 campsites and 35 cabins, aiming to become a destination park due to its strategic location near major highways and the Waccamaw River.
These developments reflect a broader trend of growth in the Conway area. The Conway City Council approved the annexation of about 1,800 acres on January 2, 2024, paving the way for the Warden Station project. This plan includes over 3,300 homes, comprising single-family detached homes, townhomes, and multifamily units, with completion expected over the next decade
The introduction of these RV parks is anticipated to enhance the local economy by attracting tourists and providing new recreational facilities. As these projects progress, they are set to contribute significantly to the vibrancy and appeal of the Conway and Myrtle Beach areas. |
