Community Gears Up for End-of-Summer Celebration at the Fishing Pier |
Surfside Beach is set to bid farewell to summer with a vibrant festival on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Surfside Beach Fishing Pier.
The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m., featuring live beach music by The Catalinas, an authentic Hawaiian hula show, and a variety of food and craft vendors.
Families can enjoy a dedicated kids' zone offering a bounce house, water slide, face painting, and a foam zone.
The event is a celebration of community spirit and a warm welcome to visitors.
The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m., lasting around 20 minutes.
For safety reasons, pier businesses have been advised to avoid the area during the delivery of fireworks between 6-8 a.m. on the day of the event.
Local authorities, including the fire department, police department, and public works, will be present to conduct security sweeps before and after the fireworks display.
A free shuttle service will operate from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., covering all parking lots in Surfside Beach to accommodate attendees.
The festival's budget of $40,000, sourced from Accommodations Tax funds, is expected to come in approximately $5,000 under budget, according to Tabitha Mull, Surfside's communications coordinator.
The fireworks display, costing $19,999, was negotiated to remain under the $20,000 cap set by the Town Council.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to join the festivities and celebrate the end of summer at Surfside Beach's Family Beach. |
