There is ALWAYS Something NEW at LW Market place!

Have you ever dreamt of trading a corporate cubicle for a creative dream? That's exactly what Lindsay Hall did when she opened LW Marketplace, a charming new craft and gift shop that's quickly becoming a Conway hotspot. After a successful career in corporate finance and management, Lindsay decided to take a leap of faith, swapping spreadsheets for handmade crafts. The result is a vibrant, locally-owned store brimming with unique treasures.

For Lindsay, the move to the Myrtle Beach area was a bit of a homecoming. She spent her childhood vacationing here and later brought her own kids to enjoy the sun and sand. After forty years of living in Ohio, she and her husband decided they'd had enough of shoveling snow and made the move south. Drawn to Conway's small-town charm, they found the perfect place to start their new lifeβ€”and a brand new business. They have called Conway home for the past five years.

A Treasure Trove of Local Talent

Step inside LW Marketplace, and you'll immediately feel the passion and dedication of the community. This isn't your average gift shop; it's a showcase for the incredible talent of the local area. The store features the work of 42 different local crafters, artisans, and small businesses, each with a unique story to tell.

You'll find an amazing variety of handmade items, perfect for gifts or a little something special for yourself. Imagine unwinding with a luxurious goat milk soap or adding a touch of charm to your home with a beautiful handmade wreath.

You can also browse through unique jewelry, find cozy crocheted items, or pick up a captivating wind spinner. The selection is constantly changing, with something new to discover every time you visit.

More Than Just a Store

But the creativity doesn't stop there. LW Marketplace also offers a fantastic assortment of other items, including intricate 3D-printed designs, fragrant candles, and stunning photography. It's a true one-stop shop for anyone looking to support local businesses and find high-quality, handcrafted goods.

If you're in the Myrtle Beach area, make sure to add this gem to your must-visit list. Not only will you find a fantastic selection of gifts and specialty items, but you'll also be supporting the dreams of local entrepreneurs like Lindsay.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. So, next time you're looking for a one-of-a-kind gift or just want to treat yourself, stop by LW Marketplace and see what local treasures you can find.

You can stop by 3133 Church St., Unit B, Conway, SC and say β€˜Hi.’

Living In South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is facing a sharp drop in Canadian tourism, with visitor numbers plummeting over 33% as summer ends.

This downturn is driven by economic strains, including a weak Canadian dollar and political uncertainties straining cross-border relations.

Businesses accustomed to steady Canadian clientele, such as resorts and specialty restaurants, are reeling from the change.

Business owners are saying that the slump is due to high costs and challenging economic conditions in Canada.

Nevertheless, Canadian spending still totaled over $11 million in the first half of the year.

The city is boosting its appeal through attractions like Downtown Flavortown and the upcoming board game cafΓ©, The Space at Kaleidoscope, aiming to revitalize tourism and draw a wider audience.

The Conway and Myrtle Beach areas are preparing for rapid growth with major new RV park developments.

In Conway, the Diamond Shores RV campground is being planned along S.C. Highway 905, featuring 94 RV spaces, 23 cabins, and family-friendly amenities on nearly 35 acres owned by Warren and Sharon Stalvey.

The project, managed by a local real estate firm, is close to the Waccamaw River, promising exciting outdoor recreation opportunities.

A separate RV park off Highway 905 near Highway 22 received its first green light from county officials, aiming to create a destination park with around 200 campsites and 35 cabins thanks to its prime spot near major thoroughfares and natural attractions.

Recent annexation by the Conway City Council of 1,800 acres supports even larger development plans like Warden Station, boosting housing and future economic activity.

These RV parks are expected to draw more tourists and offer fresh recreational options for locals, fueling economic and community growth.

Simply Southern...

What's  Cooking

It's no secret that South Carolina is known for it's juicy peaches, but what if I told you there's another fruit that's making a quiet comeback in the Palmetto State?

While apples aren't what we're known for, a small but dedicated group of farmers in the mountainous upstate region is proving that South Carolina can grow more than just peaches.

You'll find these hidden gems tucked away in places like Long Creek and Mountain Rest.

It's a sweet taste of fall in a place famous for summer. Apples offer a wealth of health benefits. Packed with fiber for good digestion and antioxidants like vitamin C, an apple a day really can help keep the doctor away. So the next time you're craving a healthy, crunchy snack, grab and apple!

The article provides a recipe for a healthy apple coleslaw that is easy to make and delicious.

The coleslaw is made with a mix of shredded cabbage, apples, celery, and carrots, and dressed with a sweet and tangy dressing made from Greek yogurt, honey, and apple cider vinegar.

This dish is perfect for those looking for a lighter, healthier version of traditional coleslaw that is still full of flavor.
