Joke Of The Week

How Do You Know It's Bike Week in Myrtle Beach?

Behind The Brand...
Gemma Luxe Cleaning

Behind the Brand: Gemma Lux Cleaning's Quiet Rise in Myrtle Beach

Trading a lifetime in Maryland for the sands of South Carolina, Kristin—known professionally as Gemma, made a clear-eyed decision driven by the promise of opportunity.

That decision, made less than a year ago, was the genesis of Gemma Lux Cleaning, a new business that's quickly finding its footing in the competitive Myrtle Beach market.

Her move wasn't impulsive; it was a calculated search for a new horizon. "I lived in Maryland all my life, and I was tired of seeing the same things every day," she explained. "I've seen more opportunities for me coming down here than I did back home." This forward-looking mindset is what ultimately propelled her to launch the business after arriving last October.

Myrtle Beach has a high concentration of cleaning services, a reality Gemma acknowledges with pragmatic honesty. When asked how Gemma Lux Cleaning sets itself apart, her answer focused not on marketing flair, but on fundamental principles: pride and accountability.

"What I always know is that you have to know what sets you apart," she stated. "I am very prideful in taking—I do my cleaning. And even when my business gets higher than that, I will still make sure that I go behind, make sure that it is up to my standards."

She sees a gap in the market where quality often slips. For Gemma, simply showing up isn't enough; the commitment is to delivering a superior result. It's in this dedication to the work itself that she sees the company's real competitive edge.

Comprehensive Service and Measured Growth

Gemma Lux Cleaning, currently operating with a team of four employees, handles a comprehensive range of services, demonstrating versatility from the start:

  • Residential and Commercial cleaning.

  • Work with property managers on Airbnb and Vacation Rentals.

  • Move-in/Move-out specialties.

Her commitment extends beyond the immediate Myrtle Beach area, as she is willing to travel further into surrounding areas and even into lower North Carolina to serve clients.

Looking ahead, Gemma's vision for the company is one of controlled, sustainable growth. She aims to scale the business to 10 to 20 employees over the next five years, prioritizing the maintenance of high standards over rapid expansion. "I want to make it big, but it's only as big as the work you put into it," she noted.

Ultimately, Gemma's story is a testament to the power of seizing opportunity. Her message to others contemplating a change is simple and direct: "To take a risk. To jump out there. To just go for it." It’s a philosophy that has not only redefined her own life but is now building a foundation for a promising new business in the Grand Strand.
