Universal caramels is a family business located in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Their kitchen is fully licensed and insured by the state of South Carolina. Husband and wife team, Steve and Leslie Clark, and our children, Justin, Jason and Brooke all work in the business in some capacity.
(We really think he just wanted to meet a girl there that he had met on a previous trip)
Using an old family recipe, Justin and Jason started making caramels and selling them at local festivals in our area. Our recipe and philosophy was simple: We use the best ingredients, make the caramels in small batches, and individually wrap each piece for freshness. And that is the same business practices they use today. |

5 Star Fabulous...Local Business Spotlight |
Vicki & Kari Alvaro have always had a love for the beaches of South Carolina and entrepreneurship.
Vicki started and ran a successful landscaping company for 25 years in Bucks County PA, while Kari started and ran a successful bakery is Easton Pa. Both decided it was time to move south and enjoy a slower paced beach life. They decided rather quickly they wanted to build a community down here and decided to open Sweet Girlz Creamery, which was located at 9619 Shore Dr, Myrtle Beach.
While operating our ice cream shop we noticed a need for a bakery as well, and we started to build a customer base for our fresh, from scratch bakery. On the other side of the business, Vicki always dreamed of owning her own breakfast & lunch spot. We finally made it a priority and decided to open a bakery & cafe. We searched up and down the Grand Strand for the perfect location, landing just north of Barefoot Landing in the Windy Hill Shopping Center.
Sweet Girlz Bakery & Cafe serves the same amazing baked goods that our big sister sells in Easton Pa, as well as serve a full breakfast & lunch menu. Our Cafe menu include northerners favorites like scrapple & pork roll, as well as Real "Wit or Wit Out" Philly Cheesesteaks!
Looking for a budget friendly breakfast? Look no further, we will be known as "Home Of The $5 Breakfast". Order up "Mary's Breakfast Special" daily from 8am -9am! Full menu served all day.
Sweet Girlz will also has custom cakes for weddings and special occasions.
